A judge will give her decision next month on the sentence for a teen who set her classmate on fire at Evan Hardy Collegiate in 2024. The lawyers have recommended the maximum youth sentence of three years from the date of sentencing.

The family of a 37-year-old man who was fatally stabbed in Ottawa’s Carlington neighbourhood earlier this month says the victim, Andrew Dawson-Swan, had moved into his apartment building just weeks before his death and seemed to be afraid of someone there.
